Yes the easy-off really works strips the coating off then you can polish it and it looks like chrome.

When I did mine, I left it on about 10-15 minutes.

Were these grill shells, etc, supposed to be bling bling chrome shiny? or somewhat matte finished?

oven cleaner never even touched the finish just cleaned it. just tied to sand out scratches with 800 sandpaper and couldnt see where i did it.

This was some good stuff here, I relly enjoyed the cat fight and how the Administrator put the one guy in "Time Out". Reminded me of when my kids were about 6 years old. The anodized aluminum is an interesting problem. I think I need to strip my grill because I need to sand out some scratches and try to straghten one bent area. What is a good way to re-finish it after stripping and polishing? Re-anodize? How would you do that? Next, someone asked about touching up a chromed part where just a spot is bad. Anybody know anything about how to do that? I've got a NOS F250 badge that is perfect except for a spot about the size of my thumbnail where the chrome peeled away.
