5.93L = 361.870 cu. in. This does not include the volume of the heads.

GM 2005 Powertrain here is a link to gm power guide. find the L18. the interesting part can be found under the preformance plot under silverado HD. I don't recall seeing a tq curve that flat for a gas engine in a long time.

That's what it is. You need to account for the volume of the heads as well.

According to ford my 6.8L V10 is 415 ci. According to the calculator it is 414.96 so there is no added calculation for the head.

As far as engine size I know that my engine size is 302 (4.9ishL). I don't really know if the added volume in the heads (dish above the cylinder) when bolted on would make it a '5.0'. Interesting thought I guess. But as stated on my part - I don't really have a clue on that. So....cheers to y'all too!!

Not Correct, head volume has nothing to do with figuring displacement. Stoke & Bore............

yeah alot of it is marketing...chevy sells a 5.7 350 so ford makes a 5.8 351...numbers dont always match the tags in the brochure

Well I couldn't figure out where the loss of displacement came from and I assumed it came for the heads. I very well might be wrong.

my best understanding is the the CI size given is usually close to correct but the liter measure that is put out has alot of marketing involved
