Hey all,
I went through some deep puddles in my 98 after the first big snow/rainstorm we had here in NYC, and about 30 miles later bang! A CEL.
After a trip to Autozone here is my problem,
P0705-Transmission range sensor malfunction
My question is, is this definitely a faulty sensor or could it be a short due to some water getting in there? Just for reference one of my HID headlights started to flicker last night as well, maybe I wet alot of stuff while fording some of the deeper puddles. What do you guys say?
I live in NYC and this happened to my 99 eb in the snowstorm. I reset the computer and today I drove to NJ and back and the CEL hasnt come back on. I think it probably was the water causing a short. Did you try to clear the codes? I posted this the night it happened and someone sent me this link . hopefully it will help..... https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/6...tml#post5239268
Thanks for the links guys. So far I've reset the ECU and no code, knock on wood. I'm hoping this was due to the water as I stated before. Now I'm more educated on the problem, if it comes back on I'll try fiddling with the shift cables/sensor, if not I made it out easy.
Thank you for the help!
BTW: Jimmy looks like you're local. I'm on SI too. What a coincidence! We got the same code at the same time, living in the same area! SI is small enough, maybe I've seen your truck around?
