98 Explorer Door Key

I NEED A DOOR KEY FOR A 98 EXPLORER , AND THE TRUNK WILL NOT LOCK WITH THE REMOTE . IS THERE SOMEWHERE ON THE CAR WHERE I CAN GET THE KEY NUMBERS TO GET A KEY MADE . ALSO A LIGHT IN THE DASH SAYS GHECK GAGE , THE ONLY GAGE THAT IS NOT MOVING TO GOOD IS THE CHARGING GAGE . THANKS

Just go to your local FORD dealer with the key.

Thanks But I Don't Have A Key , I Am Trying To Save Taking A Door Lock Out And Having A Locksmith Make A Key . All I Have Is The Remote .

ohh ok...sorry, I thought you just meant to get a blank key to copy.....I think but not 100% sure but I think you can call the dealer and give them your vin number and they can find the key. Not really sure that the owners manual will tell ya anything like that.

How come your ignition key is not the same as your door key?

That Is A Good Question , I Have A 98 Winstar And The Key Is The Same For Both The Doors Trunk And Ignition

previous owners could have broken the ignition or door locks and just interchanged one of them and not both. does your key work on the passenger door?
