Well I'll admit I was skeptical that the foil delete would do anything at all, but I did it tonight and was impressed with the results, when you dig into the throttle theres alot more whistle! Definatly worth the hassle of taking it off. Its starting to sound like my old 6.0. So for anyone contemplating this I say do it!
I haven't towed anything since I did mine......I'm hoping it isn't completely annoying haha. I love the whistle though! It really gets going with straight exhaust!!!!
I agree with all of those bullets except the one about it not reducing boost. Everyone I know (including me!) has seen a 2-3 psi drop in boost after installing the WW. However, that's not a bad thing because it dropped mine just enough that I don't have to worry about over-boosting (at least by a lot). I love the whistle, and definitely fixed my surge.
when you remove the foil wrap from your intercooler pipe, that runs next to your intake tube on a 7.3L it gives you a whistle sound from the turbo. The foil is just a sound deadener they put on there. It's a ROYAL PITA to get off....but it's a free mod! Won't enhance performance, but changes the sound a bit......
Ive been hesitant to do the delete. I thought it insulated the air temp in the IC pipe. No one has mentioned it. I wonder if anyone has a sound clip of how loud the wistle is.

Ernest always brought that up but I have not seen him on here in awhile.
