My wife and I are looking to purchase a travel trailer in the 30'-34' range and I'm trying to find out where the best deals are. I don't mind going to get it....even 2000+ miles away if it's worth my while. I've seen some new ones like 10k of retail.....where are the best deals located in? My wife and kids could fly down and I would pick them up on the way back and plan our holidays around it.....any suggestions....or even better....websites.
Any dealers in Alberta, no sales tax. Try the bigger centres like Edmonton or Calgary. Check out the different brands and models on the internet to see what appeals to you. And don't pay list, you can wheel and deal plus getting them to throw in extras.
I herd something about the Government selling the old FEMA trailers used during Katrina.. I cannot confirm but I would suggest they would be CHEEEEEEEAP. Not sure I would want one though.
They are no longer selling the FEMA trailers because of the formaldhyde issue. There are a lot of rv shows this time of year. They are a good place to check out all the units.
I dont know how the deals are, but this place is huge & does A ton of advertising in the midwest. It cant hurt to look at the website.http://www.tomraper.com/ you also see alot of actual dealers on e-bay.

I've been on e-bay and almost can't believe the prices....just looking for places that people can vouch for.

Yes there are some good deals, as you said you have to be cautious, you can learn alot from there feedback & most of the brand new ones on there are at real dealerships, provide A phone number & will sell off e-bay so you could probably set up A more conventional deal where you could go there & see it,buy it & take it home. best of luck in your search.
Right now, RV shows are popping up all over the country. That's typically your best bet for the best deals. Plus, you get to see a ton of TTs all in the same place for comparison. You also get to compare dealers as well.
Do a search for RV shows in large cities (Seattle, San Francisco, even Vegas, etc.). They usually last a whole weekend and would be worth the flight and a fun weekend.
I bought mine in Florida off a wealthy retired couple that used it only a few time and decided hotels were more comfortable. Less than one year old. Found it on Ebay. After it didn't sell, I called him directly and made the deal. They actually delivered to me 2100 miles away as part of the price. I saved $35K off the retail price.
Friend of mine found a great deal in the local news paper. Divorce couple just wanted to get rid of it fast. $30K value for $15K.
