Activator II in mine. My son had one in his '99 and it worked well. For some reason it quit last month and was replaced with another Activator II. They fit well and are somewhat compact. Easily adjusted. I like the digital readout.
I worked in the trailer industry for two years and Tekonsha was all we sold works great. I got a free Voyager from them, but when towing season begins I will upgrade to the Prodigy, they work flawlessly.
Tekonsha Voyager here. It works well for me pulling the horse trailer. I find that it is a bit touchy if it isn't adjusted correctly but if it is, it works well. I might have to look at the prodigy due to the many positive responses in this and other threads like this one.
Brake Smart. It truely works. No adjustment, no cables, no leveling. It senses brake line pressure and applies the same to the trailer brakes. Of course if you're serious about trailer brakes, loose the 1950 magnets and install some disc brakes. never erver will I tow without disc brakes. Barney
Overwhelming response was the Prodigy. Thanks Everyone!! I guess I could've made this a poll, but I didn't really think there'd be this many of you replying!!
Rick --> How do you like the Activator? He is looking at the Activator II...
Joe, I think it is one of the cheaper controllers. I would tell him to with Prodigy. If this one messes up I will go with Prodigy.
I have my sensativity turned all the way up. With the heavy loads I carry, I need them to start working as soon as I touch the brake. I never had a big problem with the Activator, but there are some better.
