I have a friend with a 2003 F350 with a 7.3 and he says that after he uses his cruise control he no longer has control of his accelerator for roughly 3 minutes. He has been throwing parts at it and the lastest that the has purchase but yet to install is a throttle control sensor. Anyone have a clue what it could be? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
have him check the idle validation switch tahts located in the pedal assembly. i had the same problem a while ago and when the throttle response would fade i would just hit the pedal a couple of times and it would usually come back in a couple of seconds. since then i have replaced the pedal assembly
The throttle position sensor is part of the pedal assymble. I got one at the stealership, surprisingly cheap(90 bucks) for the part. It's only three bolts and one wire connector, about 10 minutes to change.
