Brandon, thank you for the advice and the explaination. I will give Dennis a call for sure. About the DP Tuner, which one do you think would work the best? I drive the truck a lot and I do a lot of towing, mostly light to medium loads. Lots of cars and construction supplies for the house. Also when I get a chance, to the dunes with the toy hauler.

Jim
Just call Jody at DP ,or Dennis at ITP (its the ONLY tuner he sells for the 7.3) and tell them what kinda weight you are towing regularly, and at what altitude. either of these guys will make sure you get the best tunes for your particular driving style. Thats the beauty of custom tuning vs off the shelf. Off the shelf= 1 set of tunes for all vehicles, Custom means 1 set of tunes for your vehicle that matches your driving style and your current modifications.
But just as a guess, I would say... no start, stock, high idle1100, 60tow, 80econo, 80 tow, 120R, and for fun get the 140smoke those are the ones I have (except for the 140S) and the whole thing was $450ish shupped to my door.
Jim ask them about some stage I's like the 175/146 single shots, shoots about 20% more fuel and adds approx 60 hp in addition to what your chip will do. I should be running about 360-375 RWHP , just haven't got it on the dyno yet. Good injectors for everyday driving and towing. Still getting 18 mpg highway unloaded, 15 around town and 11-13 towing our 10,000 lb 31' 5th whhel. Great upgrade without worrying about hurting a PMR engine.
What year is your truck?

I performed a cylinder contribution test on an 01 with 145,000 miles on it. It has regular oil changes and well maintained one owner. It is currently running pretty good, just an occasional slight quiver.
The fault codes that came up from the test are P0269 and P0284 that is #8 and #3 Injector Circuit Contribution Balance Fault.
What does this mean and how do I fix it?
Bryan,
Which scanner or software were you using. Curious on how bad the numbers were on the injector. Most customer/friends trucks I scan see from 2%-3.5% on #8.
Don't was your money on any mistery engine oil additive. There are two oils out there with the same additive already in them. Plus it's no advisable to play with the chemistry of any oil unless you know exactly how the additive will affect the chemistry of the oil you are adding it too.

I am using Auto Enginuity, haven't figured out the percentage thing yet, I will be looking in to that to see if the program does this or not, the buzz test was good no issue there.

thanks for the help
I'm still kinda new to the AE myself. But try going to the live data tab and selecting each idividual cylinders rotational velocity. You'll see it on the pull down menu. It will give you a percentage.
cool that was what I was thinking, after the fact I am planning on playing some more with it today, but the truck in question is out of town for the weekend
Mike (Tenn01psd350) walked me through alot of the AE software - it's a great tool but takes some quality time (and coffee) to figure out all the mass amount of data & options. Still haven't been good at graphing anything yet,,, just a matter of time...
