My 2002 F450 7.3 won't start unless the heater is plugged in for 2-3 hours+ regardless of the weather. Today I did a cylinder contribution test and at first cylinder 2 got code P0266 (Injector Circuit Contribution / Balance Fault) and cylinder 7 got code P0281 (Injector Circuit Contribution / Balance Fault). I drove it 10-15 miles and did another test. Only Cylinder 2 got code P0266. No error on cylinder 7. I've used RevX with some success before, so I'm tempted to try it again see if it clears up the error on 2. My question though can injectors be an explanation for my hard start situation? (I've already replaced EGR, ECP, Fuel Filter, CPS and glow plugs seem to be fine also).

Yes, it could be the injectors. However it could be many different issues that are significantly less expensive than injectors.
How many miles are on the truck?
What are you using for a scan tool?
Is ECP the same thing as ICP? If so, please let us know what ICP you are seeing whilst cranking.
Please explain what EGR means to you...EBP sensor?

It has 220,000 miles. I'm using Autoenginuity with the Ford package.
Sorry, I meant ICP instead of ECP. EGR is the EGR valve.
Watch the videos on ARCHOIL. It will tell you what you need to know. Order the product through Powerstrokehelp (they have the cheapest price and the give money to a veterans group that trains GI's in diesel mechanics
There is one video specifically about injectors in 7.3's Bill Hewitt shows a hard start 7.3 They add the Archoil and run the truck 20 to 30 miles.
Do you mean IPR instead of EGR? Our trucks (thankfully) do not have an EGR.
As for the powerstroke help guy linked above, I personally, and many members here don't pay too much attention to him. At the very least take what he says with a large pinch of salt.

Since you are concerned about the source then check this video out. One of the executives of Archoil on Jay Leno's Garage. Also google search for magazine tests of Archoil products. A 16 ounce bottle and a shot of fuel modifier save the owner of the truck a few thousand dollar. But if you are rich just get the new injectors.

Go to Jay Leno's garage and he did a segment on Archoil. One of the executives from the company is in the video and he explains what the product is.
Also, many of the Diesel magazines and web sites have used the product and have reported on it.
I run it in my truck and several of my cars. I also run the Archoil fuel modifier.
Thanks for the suggestion. I'm already using REVX in it. I actually had a miracle with it, cleared up 7 injectors to pass a buzz test. And helped cylinder 7 pass the contribution test.

IPR, yes that was it! trying to remember is tricky

I wasn't knocking archoil one bit, in fact I am running their friction modifier and the fuel supplement right now. It was the PS help guy that I was taking issue with. Anyone who watches a couple of his you tube videos should see that his advice is not always the best.
