I bought a set new of the borla ss headers that mate up to the cat back exhaust off ebay a year ago for ~ $250.00 (Borla was discontinuing them and someone bought the lot for resale I presume). They come with the intermediate pipe to connect them together and have worked great- helped the mid to high pretty good. No fit or interference problems and no leaks so all is well. If you can find a set of these definitley buy them!

Thats an extremely good price for Borlas. My only gripe with the Borlas are the thin 18ga tubes.
Temp? Been around for awhile, just started to post.
I was wondering if anyone ever had a problem with headers in the summer. In VA it gets hot. I was unsure if this is and issue with headers. I am a better off raping them to fend off some of th hear.
I have the Banks headers and have had them for years. The only problem I have had is the 0 2 sensors backing out and rattling. Other than that, perfect.
No, bought them from Banks. I'm not saying it's not a problem for all headers, but I have never had a problem with mine. I would just keep an eye on things.
I appreciate the help. Do you think I am better off buying Bora, Gibson then I am a set that cost $200 versus $700? I could careless what they look like. Do you know what the difference is with ceramic versus I guess the "regular"? I have duals now with and H pipe. But the communist State that I live in (Virginia) is on its way to outlaw and after market exhaust. So this is why I am under the gun know to get this done. I have been putting this off for years. I am on my 3 EX I love them. I am very happy that they are making them again. Did you notice any large amount of cabin noise? I have read that it has been minimal. What positives came out of doing it?
I never had any trouble with my headers in the summer and towing. Coolant temps, cylinder head temp and trans temps stay normal. I have the Doug Thorley headers. I would spend the money on a set of long tube headers over shorties.
Very good to know. I cant remember for the life of me what kind of muffler I have. I am wondering at this point if I am better off replacing the whole thing if I am going to do the Headers. I had the exhaust installed 3-4 years ago. You truly have been a wealth of information. I truly appreciate it. I had joined years ago but forgot about it tell a friend from another site told me about this forum,
i witnessed 2 sets break after a mud ride with less than a day of install. they got hot and when they were introduced to splashing water, you got a cracked collector flange and cracked pipes!!
some have had no problems with them, but it's a gamble. the BANKS run 1000-1100 for headers and Y pipe, $1500 for the stinger kit!! doug thorley runs about the same for the headers/ Y pipe combo!! both of these brands have THICK flangs, and THICK tubes, so you get what you pay for kinda thing.
i run the banks kit, and have loved it since i bolted it on!!
Can't agree with the man more. Banks TorqueTubes and Monster Exhaust own. Completely transformed my V10 the day they were installed. Stupid me opted out of the Ram-Air intake, but that will be fixed come tomorrow.

NEVER EVER RAPE a header, specially' if it's hot, and you want to reproduce.

Do the headers first and then worry about the rest of the exhaust system. The headers will completely change the sound vs stock and not always in a good way. After I put my headers the aftermarket exhaust I had sounded horrible so I replaced it with my current system. Below is a link to my current exhaust.
