Now take an ultra fast attck aircraft such as a F18 carrying state of the art bombs and shove one right through the apartment window of an enemy hideout.......one bomb, more of the important targets are dead.
best thing since sliced bread.....forget hiding inthe mnts. they think there safe holed up in a basement somewhere.hell no, we get fix on location, its the only house in the neighborhood, gettin wrecked by a jdam..........i could watch footage of this stuff like it were my favorite tv show
What a damn fool Putin is to try to assert power in this way when so many peaceful opportunities are there. (i.e. aircraft lift rental to the US military, for example)
I saw Pickens on some talk show talking about the film. They strapped him on the bomb upside down to film the ride down. He had the flu and said it wasn't much fun.
I liked him as an actor. "What in the Wide, Wide World of Sports isa goin' on here???!!!"
Red flag is going on at Nellis. A few days ago I pulled into one of the housing tracts we work in, near Nellis, and four B1's rolled out of the airbase, followed by several F16's.
I tell you the hair was standing up on my neck, just thinking of the fire power that had just flew over my head.
Chances are they had bombs on board, since Red Flag is a live fire exercise.
"Big bombers right now aren't the critical thing they used to be, since guided missile technology has come so far."
Missiles require a launch platform. Big bombers can carry many missiles. Missiles are very expensive and QUICKLY used up, after which bombers can use smart and dumb munitions.
its just a fly by, during the cold war it was normal. they have still been doing operations undersea, at least the whole time i was in the Navy.
i still see no purpose in it though.
lots of american business in russia, lots of investment, the only thing that will make it another cold war is if the contractors want one, but not one shot will be fired but plenty of money will be made off of useless crap that will just sit around.
putin kgb? of course, so was bush sr. it was a job, he was in the east german sector, in case people forgot, he was yelstin's favorite guy and selected by him to succeed him. i don't know why everyone just thinks everyone loved the communist system and is sorry to see it go. the only people who still like are the old pensioners who think of the old days when they still had a pension. plus we in the west love to critize putin all the time (neverminding all of our other great allies like pakistan and saudi arabia) but putin has a huge approval rating in his country and brought some law and order to a chaotic time after the ussr and failure of yelstin to control the country. we in the USA pushed for years for a democratic russia, we got one yet still complain. but will hardly hear a word from us about the autocratic regimes that propped up after the ussr.
as far as russia rebuilding, sure, why not. they have a country with about 1 billion people to the south of them that is getting heavily dependent on imported natural resources, resources that sit right north of them in russia. china is not our or anyone's friend. plus with russia's history, they have been invaded many times, i imagine anyone with that kind of history would want a strong military deterent. plus the vatican and who ever they can influence has never been a fan of anyone orthodox christian.
the missile defense shield puzzles the heck out of me. why is it being built? if it is for protecting ruope, protect them from who? iran? if iran is that advanced then why are we not attacking iran? are we going going to purposely allow iran to acquire nukes? the defense shield is of no threat to russia, i think the irk out of it is having missils that close to thier border, you know damn well we would freak if russia started putting missiles in mexico, heck, we freaked when they sold some ak-47s to chavez.
I've said it before and I'll say it again...I think sometime this year we will be engaged militarily with Iran, either directly or backing up Israel. I find it hard to believe the present administration would want to trust either Hillary or Obama to pull the trigger on those scumbags.
they trust them not to pull the trigger. i would like to think some sort of conflict in the future but as of now there is zero increase in military activity that would suggest anything outside a very limited strike.
back to the missile defense system....why? would it not be more feasable to take out the missile sites? or take out the entire military infrastructure that would provide the missile attack?
