Cutting off the muffler

I have a 94 f150 with the 351 and i was wondering how loud it would be with that huge stock muffler cut off and jsut the two cats still in place. I heard the cats will still quite it down alittle bit cuz I don't want anything obnoxiously loud. Anyone done this before?

My Truck had 1 HUGE cat and 1 HUGE muffler it was a 95 250 with the 351, i cut off the muffler and ran a piece of pipe out and had it exit in front of the passenger rear wheel. Sounded pretty good, but had an AWFUL drone at about 2k rpm. Ditched that, went true dual straight pipes with turn downs, about a foot before rear axle, nice rumbly idile, mean sounding rumble about 2k and even meaner sounding about 3-4k. But for gas sake, i dont go much farther than 3k, 351 like to eat the gas.
