Depends.. I know you got a nice truck and all.. But I'd hate to see that pretty ol' lady pissed off at you for breaking the nice truck she enjoys riding in!
hahahah.....yea. I don't have a choice though. I have no other ride at this time, need it for work. My Livewire is at SCT for warranty work (yea, i know it was dumb sending it off w/ out returnin to stock, but nothin can do bout it) so i can't go to the dealer. Only thing I can do now is order studs so I have everything ready once I get my SCT back..............

a buddy is helpin me out by lending me his SCT to flash the truck to stock so i can hopefully get to the dealer sometime this week. I ordered head studs so i will be able to provide them to the dealer if they will actually install them for me........i'll let everyone know the outcome as soon as i find out
i just remembered that my uncle is a mechanic at a ford dealer up in PA. he told me that if my dealer at home won't help me out that he'll try his best to hook me up at his dealer........so hopefully this will actually turn out good
I had hardly any coolant in the degas bottle, there was dried coolant all over the engine around the degas bottle, coolant had even made its way down the block and onto the radius arm. This is all on the driverside. My driverside head had to be replaced.
That is the beauty of these trucks, even with blown h/g's they will still get you home.
that's the beauty of the STOCK head gaskets for sure !
if you run hypermax's you won't be so lucky cause once they go they're completely gone and you will be needing a tow, but w/stock HG's you can still drive the vehicle w/compromised gasket.
I called SCT today to check the status on my Livewire. I was on hold for looong time. then i talk to someone and he basically had no idea what i was talkin about. he was like, well it will probably be couple more days. so to test him i asked what address they had to send it back and he's like uhhh well ummmm ahhhh our system is down, you'll have to call us later today..............i have a feeling this is goin to take forever.....i'm almost tempted to buy a X3 and when i finally get by livewire back, just sell it on ebay
I finally got my truck to stock and was able to bring it into the dealer. Got the call today confirming that I did have blown HG's..........also the cyl. heads need to be replaced. The dealer agreed to put studs in for me, as long as I provided them. Only cost to me is the $99 deductible (and the studs)!
I cleaned my air filter once & forgot to hook up the hose back to the bottle and drove around a few miles, got scared when opened the hood and there was coolant everywhere!
I did that once too! I'm glad I looked under the hood while my wife was in the gas station. I lost 3 gallons and was about to drive through the mojave desert in 100 degree weather. Now I can't get the white stains off the underhood blanket even after hosing it down a few times.

Nice. I think I will buy an SCT just so I can blow the headgaskets and get studs installed.
What is the $100 deductible that everyone talks about? I have never paid a dime for warranty work.
