how many people on here use the edge evolution or juice with attitude monitor? i am thinking about getting one of these for my 1999 f350 and was wondering what kind of luck you all have had out of them. i pull a 21' toy hauler trailer and i am looking for some performance and if possible a little better gas milage.
Thanks
i bought the edge evolution 3 years ago, and havent had a problem with it. i would say its very good, then again i have nothing to compare it to either.
You came to the right place, welcome to FTE. You will find many on here that were using some type of off the shelf tuner like the edge (I had the juice with attitude) but have switched to DP Tuner. I is a custom chip made for your trucks PCM. IMHO it's way better than the edge, you will need to get separate gauges to monitor vitals though. Look in most peoples sig and you will see DP Tuner.

I am pretty sure it is www.dp-tuner.com bud. Or go to the link in the sponsors list.
I have DP and I love it. I was going to get Evo w Att Mon, but would CERTAINLY not get it anymore. The only reason for getting off the shelf stuff is for a work truck or a truck you borrow out a lot. The Edge stuff all has auto backdown when EGT's get too high so if I was not driving my truck all the time I would get an Edge.
I have one of the new Edge Evos and short of some product introduction cable problems that are now fixed, it has not been a problem. I'll talk tunes in a second... It does provides some nice features, i.e. built in gages - boost, egt, tranny temp, engine temp, batter voltage, atm pressure (map), RPM, inlet air temp. Granted they are read from the PCM so you don't get and "independant" assessment of the variables, but I could argue that knowing what the truck thinks is going on is pretty darned important as well. Also, you get a code reader. All in all, not a bad value.
As for tunes, at one point in time Jody at DPtuner was able to burn his tunes onto the unit. Something happened though and that service stopped (as of last Nov). I got the impression he was trying to get it going again, though I'm not sure if he has.
If possible, I will re-burn mine with his tunes. If not, I'm going to look into using my Edge in stock as a gage cluster and code reader, and get a DPtunner added to the PCM. Not sure if this will work, but it seems like it should.
I should say that you could do what Bruce did and put stock in position zero and you wouldn't have to worry about the auto backdown option. If you pull the F5 it will default to zero. That is a good way to go.
Bruce, PM me with what leveling kit you used and how happy you are with it.
