So to the people who say it is not any good... would you say it is better than running all stock?
It reads codes, so at least it has that going for it...
Most people that I've seen that had it said it was better than stock, but the DP was better than that. There are quite a few on here that have had them both and all of them have said the same, it couldn't hold a candle to the DP, so if you want codes read, why not buy a code reader, if you want performance, why not buy a DP. Isn't that what you are after when you get a chip?
I have both, not a problem with either. I will be getting the DP-tunes after my tranny is replaced. It is better than stock. I do tow a 4000lb. boat and haul a 3000lb. camper, nice to have that little bit of extra kick of go go.
I have ran a edge evo II for almost a year now. It did good and had a lot power then stock. I also liked the gauges on it. I just recently purchased a DP-tuner and i will the power is a lot but the biggest thing i liked was how my transmission shifts now. The dp tuner was worth the money over the edge on how it controls the transmission. Towed a 30 ft. gooseneck flat bed trailer with equipment from my shop on it and i must the dp tuner in the 60 tow setting handled it great and pulled it as well as my edge felt with its 80 and 100 horse setting. But to me the transmission shifting from the dp tuner is what i like way better then the edge.
I just leave my edge in stock now and use it for gauges and run my dp tuner.
Go with the DP chip and something like a Quadzilla Commander for your gauges. That's what I've got for my setup and I love it! Don't forget about a 4" exhaust and a decent intake and you will be set.
Your EGT's can get pretty high when you are towing if you don't have the "supporting mods" (exhaust/intake).
I had the evo for about a year, and had gauges before that. Compared to a stock truck, it was pretty exciting, and its probably one of the better universal programmers for our trucks. I used to run the 80 setting, as it seemed to be the best setting to use every day, pedal wasnt too touchy, and had good power throughout, egts were kinda high, but I didnt know any better. Some claim better fuel mileage, mine never changed. Around christmas, I got a dp tuner for my truck, with the 1400rpm idle, 80tow, 80econo, and 120 race. Egts are down probably 50-100 cruising, and hitting 12-1300 is harder, which wasnt a problem before, the edge excelled at hitting 1200 on WOT. The pedal is much more controllable/comfortable in any setting of the dp. Asin if you give it just a little gas, the truck doesnt lurch wildly, you can control the truck better. The dp tuner is much more smoother. I havent really noticed much mileage change once again, but the dptuner does something else, controls the transmission. The edge doesnt do anything (atleast the first gen evo doesnt) The stock shifting pattern + higher hp, and WOT is a recipe for the worst sloppiest shifting youve ever experienced. It just never knew what to do. With the dp, almost all of my shifting woes have dissapeard. Sometimes I wish it locked up a little more, in which case, I just push a little harder on the pedal, and it does. But shifting is so much better. Which means more to me then having power and sloppy shifting. Hope this helps.
I had a problem with my Juice Attitude monitor awhile back. It took forever to get them to respond to my messages or e-mails. When they did they were not very customer friendly at all. The Monitor would just go blank going down the road or just freeze at the last reading. Sometimes it would come back in a minute or two but most times much longer. When I finally got ahold of a real person; they were very nasty and said send it in and they would check it and replace what it needed. It was sent back to me in a couple of days in the same box and didn't even appear to have been removed from the box. I installed it and still have the same problem. I have been trying for over a month to contact they with e-mails and calls. No response to e-mails and just a run around and BS with phone calls. VERY VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE.

That's interesting, because I've had nothing but great experiences with Edge...from when I first ordered a new pyro connection, to when I sent my A2 in for an update, to when I must have corrupted the SD card trying to create my own graphics and Edge sent me a new one for no charge, to when they helped me to troubleshoot an antenna problem (turns out that the window guys messed it up while replacing my windshield), shipping me a new antenna. My experiences with Edge customer service and support has been nothing more the excellent. In fact, when I had left messages over the weekend, they've always returned my calls...and my emails. Maybe things have changed in the last month or two, but my experiences have all been great.
As for the product, I'm pleased. I first had the Attitude and Juice, but later upgraded to the A2 to add the larger screen and TomTom navigation. The first 3 settings are plenty for me, but I also have a hard chip rated at 79hp/142tq that is on the computer. I've only ventured into the Race and Extreme settings a few times as I have not added any upgrades to my driveline. My rig runs out pretty good and has taken a few ricers and mustangs when needed and has yet to be beaten...but then again I don't go looking for races either...I just refused to be denied the lane or hate being cut off. I especially enjoy being able to adjust the settings to backdown and protect my investment for the long term (245K on it now and looking to make it to 500K).
I think basically that you will want to determine what it is you want to achieve with your upgrades, then choose a system that fits your needs, desires and budget. Different strokes for different folks...that why Chevy and Dodge are still in bidness.
The guy at work that has an Edge in his GMC is very happy with the customer service as well. He had the light go out in his attitude monitor, sent it in, and got it back for free. Not a bad deal.
Tom, it is worthless to say "...and a hot babe in the passenger seat!" without pictures
FWIW - Talked to Jody. As previously stated, they will not be able to burn their programs onto the Edge gear anymore. You can however leave the Edge in the stock mode for gage and code reader functions and run a standard Dp Tuner chip "underneath".
The edge will not read boost correctly. It take its reading from the pcm and only reads up to 20lbs.When i installed my boost gauge it read 27lbs.Dont make the same mistake that i did just get the dp and be done with it.Its the best money that i spent on my truck.

My edge only read up to 25#, but if you install a OBA it will only read what the PCM is seeing 22# max. My analog gauges read boost if mechanically and I can get 33# WOT (not recomended on a stock turbo) So if you have a OBA and digital gauges reading off the PCM you could be in for premature turbo failure, because of over boosting and not knowing it.
I've read 25+psi on my Edge. 27psi if I remember right. That silly alarm was a screaming. That was wide open. I'd still go with the DP. Need that stimulation check first.
Kuppa are you still using the Banks Transcommand with the DP?

yes it is still in place. When i got my dp i disconnected the banks and nothing changed so i hooked the banks back on.The banks is rubbish and spent over 450 for something that added about 5% more pressure(you could bearly fill the difference)but i dident know about the dp at that time.
