Alright I dug into her tonight. Damnest thing I have ever seen....the whole center bottom of the lifter is gone...only the part under the plunger!!!! Almost a clean circle break!! Cam still looks and feels fine just a few brights spots from I'm guessing the spring in the lifter riding on it!!!! All the other lifters check out fine...Guessing the metal went stright to the oil which still looks great. Anyhow at this point I'm just gonna put in a new lifter and button her up and hope for the best..if it all goes to hell then I'm gonna yank it and go the roller cam route.

You might want to drop the oil pan and use a magnetic retrever to find the pieces that came off. I wouldnt want loose metal stuff living in my oil pan. It should only take a little while to do and might save some headaches down the road.

Well got her all done today...so far so good...used the blue Fel Pro gaskets..no end seal..."Right Stuff" so far smooth quit and plenty of power and no leaks....on a side note how the hell is the intake suppose to seal to the heads with those thick *** end seals??!!
