Sunpro gauges

I bought a set of the Sunpro 1 1/2" white faced gauges (part #CP8091) for my 85. 1 of the illumination lights burned out before I even got the set installed. I usually build a harness for such things before I install, as it's a lot easier to do on the bench than under the dash, and the final result is much cleaner and well put together. Anyway, the first light burnt out when I tested my harness for lights. So I rigged a different light in to get me by until I could send them an email to possibly get a replacement. I got everything assembled and put in and got approx. 1 mile from my house and a second one burned out. Neither of the two lights had more than 10 minutes of life-what gives?

I have 2 of the exact same set of the Equuis gauges in the 65 and in the 86. I had one problem with one of the six gauges approx a year after installation. They responded promptly with not just the piece I needed, but with a whole gauge replacement.

I cannot afford all of the higher end professional gauges that are available today. Heck- I feel priviledged to get a set for my 85. It will be interesting to see how they respond when I call them tomorrow. If they send me replacements with a couple extra spares, I'll be content with that. Wanna guess what kind of gauges I'll buy next time?

Just put some Leds in there you could get the tri color leds and change colors if you
wanted to between red, green and blue or mix the blue and green and get a bluish/white color. I just got them for my switches on my dash they are always lit
with the blue(ford blue!!) when I turn on the fog lights that one goes red, the aux reverse light goes from blue to green.

That sounds cool. I'll probably try to get them to send me the lights, but if they don't, that is what I will do.

I contacted Sunpro ad they are sending me three lights to replace the 2 that burned out. I will settle for that, but I wanted more than one extra. Again- straight out of the box and 2 problems within 10 minutes of operation, no more Sunpro for me. I will buy Equuis from now on.

i work at advanced auto parts, and i was looking at our sunpros, and they actually have a different bulb/socket than the ones cfrives got at autozone. i dont know if they're any better, but i think sunpro guages are as ugly as chevys anyway, so im not gonna buy any to find out

They do not have the same model gauges there, I looked. They only have the 2 inch, not the 1 1/2.

Three replacement lights arrived yesterday, installed today, all is well. I'll still buy equuis now.
