Outlawspeeder88: I imagine it powers on higher speed reducing the orifice and therefore reducing the hydraulic pressure making it stiffer. On mine at high speed it malfunctions and goes back to wide open causing a dangerous situation. This has happened three times in the last 2 months.
I agree... I have a 99 EB 4x4 always wonder what hell it is? Its right above universal joint on the steering staff under the dash its a ring with holes and looks like something like a pick up sensor. Sensor has 4 wires coming out of it (red, yellow, green, and black) to I guess measure steering input wonder if it work with speedo to control the variable streering? Doea anybody know what it is?

Taumac I don't know what that part is, but I am going to ck it out. Come to think of it a few months ago I was under there tightening the gear shift shaft that was loose and maybe I knocked what you found out of alignment and my steering problems started after that.
found out its a Shock Asborber Electronic Steering Sensor apparently it senses sharp movement in steering wheel and sends signal to shock motor to stiffen shocks.... waiting for reply back from Y2K ford to tell me if its on Expys with 4 wheel air only and how it works
