hhhmmm, do I want to clean for hours, only to make more noise....

That's a tough one... Cool looking engine compartments though...

Thanks for teaching me what the mod is...

I did it and I wish I didn't. The foil delete will drive you crazy after hauling a heavy trailer at 15psi for hours on end.

Welcome to the PMS club, a lighter fuel tank and a lighter wallet. The 6637 and foil delete was the first things I did on my last truck, the foil delete is a pain in the ****.

Foil delete is one mod that you don't have to do to an early '99. It comes standard.

If it's bugging you that much, put some header wrap on it or find someone about to do the foil delete and swap out.

That may explain something I have wondered about for a long time. My Dad has a 99, and it always seems to have an annoying whistle on the highway. I thought it was the turbo, but I didn't know for sure. I just knew that my 2000 did not have near as loud, or high pitch, of a sound at the same speeds...

Perhaps this is why..

That's why I left mine alone. I can hear the turbo just fine, even through the AIS air filter housing.

I am considering some header wrap on part of my DP for two reasons. My new turbo makes plenty of noise now, and I want to insulate the tube near the manifold area to reduce heat soak. Kinda like one step forward, and two steps back.
