This gets my gears turning more and more about what my future mods are with the truck. In a year I graduate from college. And in a year the truck is paid off. I think I am going to the darkside to a cummins like Dockboy and Ryan at Beans did. My goal is to start pulling as a hobby and this will probably be the best set-up. My wife says I can do it if I have someone do it for me, So a trip to Bean's may be in the future. (I have a bad habit of not finishing projects). I want Beans exact set-up, single stack and all.
I will be DESTROKED one day!

Thats awesome that he got it running. Hes been kinda quiet about his mods, but knowing him, it's gonna be way built up. Im expecting 850 on fuel, and probably near 1000 on the bottle because he likes nitrous. He blew his powerstroke and rebuilt it an amazing 7times, i cant blame him for switching over! I can't wait to see it at smokin!

If he blew it 7 times it sounds like he may want to lay off the roids and stick to just turbo, or really back off the timimng.
The reason Dockboy blew the engine so many time is that he was more the "pioneer" of big power from the Powerstroke. He is the one who tested the limits of many of the parts we use, and was one of the first to hit the big numbers, in some cases even before the proper supporting mod (like rods) was even on the market. That's how we know how much stock forged rods will take, etc etc etc. Because of him, we now know that if you want to make "X" amount of horsepower, you need a certain list of supporting mods to go with it.
Oooooh Baby. That thing sounds great. Good thing I have decided I don't "need" one of those. Does not mean I don't want one. Can't wait to see what he does with it.
I think he's still got the BTS. I love it greg, i know you go big with everything, should be nice spending the same $$ on the cummins build, and then not worry about blowing it up every time you take it out. I bet youre gonna need to run a cage with that thing man!
Call me crazy, but i dont want to take the risks that the modded 7.3 guys have, spend bookus of $$ and then have their engine blow up. I want to do it right the first time, and instead of spending $15k on a 7.3 and worry about it blowing up at only 500hp, why not spend the same $$ and get a cummins thats mildly built (Commonrail of course) and 650hp for the same cost or less, with alot more strength?
Oh and to top it off, a few of my buddies with Cummins' were pulling out of the parking lot last night on the way to a party, and i think i fell in love. I was always complaining about that nasty I-6 exhaust drone, but i think compounds kinda muffle that, right?

I don't know, I think you're reachin'...
I love the idea of 6 or 700 reliable, cheap HP, but I just can't do that to my truck. At least yet. Besides, my old CTD drivin' Army roomate would never let me live it down.
All I can say is when my 7.3 gives up the ghost, it's outa there. The truck will get a CTD. I am still bent out of shape about the PMRs. I may never get over that idiocy on Ford's part and hence the change.
