So the laptop the is tranny controller? Does it have to be in the truck all the time, or just while setting things up?

I don't really know. I just happened to go over to Destroked.com and was checking out some parts and clicked of the brochure link for PCS. It sure looked like the software on Dockboy's laptop.

Yes, that is the PCS software and no, it doesn't have to be in the truck. But the software can monitor and datalog many other things besides the tranny so I will be running the laptop in the truck.

Yes , the compounds muffle the sound alot.

To make 6-700 will still cost you a chunk of change!!

And put it this way, I have more in this Cummins than I had in my 7.3

But I will also have nearly twice the power

Greg- Glad to see you back in action!! I was always following your buildups and blowups and have to thank you for blazing the road for the current batch of us build and blows . Working on assembling #4 now. In your honest opinion, if we ever get a practical CRD setup for the 7.3 will it be able to compete? We know that at least 1 7.3 that is making over 1500hp after ditching the HEUI.

So is your truck still going to be your daily driver work truck??

Greg, i know its gonna take some time to do, but i know that spending $20k on a conversion and parts to get 700hp on fuel (my goal) will be alot easier to do, and more reliable, and more drivable than done on a 7.3. I priced some stuff out and paying $6500 for a used engine with all the harnesses and stuff put me over $21000 very quick. hope the grass grows. I can't wait to see you at Smokin', truck or not i have ALOT of questions to ask you if you don't mind. Plus for a bill or two, can i get a ride?
