lag on every shift

lag on every shift

what do i need to do to cure this, 94 5 speed 3/4 4x4, take off and it pulls hard but has a lag till the rpms get up, does this on every shift, is this normal, its annoying

got exhaust, 3 1/2 down pipe no cat no muffler twin 5 in stacks, was thinking intake, is it better to buy or build? and i just bought a programmer, would that work the same as a chip? how big a chip?

have you check that little screen to the right fuel filter... could be clogged up?

also check all your hose clamps after the turbo, mine ha loosened up with age causing loss of boost

With a 5 speed (apposed to an automatic), you will get some turbo lag. An auto will shift faster than a stick. this will allow the turbo to unspool, then when you release the clutch and get back into the throttle, you will have to wait for the turbo to spool up again to start producing boost which equals power.
Try shifting faster and see if it performs better. If not, (as mentioned above) start with a new fuel filter (clean the FPR screen while your in there), check boot clamps, etc.....
