I just priced a solid flywheel conversion from Napa at $470, my cost. Has all bolts bearings and such.
Anyone have any thoughts on this conversion, would a LUK be in the same price range?
The DMF that is in there now is rattling, and reverse is a PITA. Hope my synchros aren't filed down to nubs.
Thanks!
well just a thought here but i got a rebuilt dmf and clutch pressure plate and throwout bearing and pilot bearing for $311.00 and i can hook you up with that person... edit... this price also included the rear engine seal to...
I just got mine Wednesday from Valair. Got it in today, but ran out of time. Tranny's still on the floor. I'll let you know how it turns out. My DMF was hooped too.
I did the NAPA conversion on my 90, and have about 40 thousand on it so far with no troubles. My son has a 95 PSD and a 97 PSD with the same. Both running good. The NAPA conversion is made in China tho.
I've always had good luck with Napa parts, clutches included. Glad to know others are too.
That noise at shutdown is awful. Grinding reverse all the time is a drag, too.
Will the pedal feel easier to push and release?
I plow snow, 40 someodd accounts, and this thing goes forward and backward a lot. The left leg gets a real workout, too.
i did the convert on my 97 too, dern thing went to rattling and shaking the whole truck, i put in a chinaman set from advanced, bout the same price as napa's took me and the ole man about 6 hours start to finish on the floor with a floorjack,
