Our off road was high sulfur until two months ago. Now it is low sulfur. They say it will be ULSD soon and will not be died red either. They will have a "special" meter that will be able to tell the difference rather that the ole' dip test. Progress sucks.
What if you have 1 tank w/regular diesel and 1 tank w/ORD and got pulled over and your tank dipped?
You could say that you only use the ORD for its intended use and regular diesel for on-road etc. Could they prove you were burning the red stuff on the road? As long as you "just left the farm" it would seem like the tailpipe swabbing would be useless.
--No, just driving down the hwy, headed towards the local Home depot... got pulled over for 72 in a 65, but the guy didnt give a crap about that... that was just his excust to pull me over. I left without a ticket or fine or anything. i guess it's a big prob around here w/ guys running the off road stuff...
just my opinion here, but isnt pulling someone over for speeding and saying "youre driving a diesel and some diesels have been known to run off road, so im going to check you for it" kind of like pulling someone over for speeding and saying "youre black and some black people have been known to do drugs, so im going to search your trunk"........how can they do that legally? wouldnt they have to have probably cause to search you for anything? like pulling you over for speeding and then seeing a trail of red running from the fuel filler.
