mixed oasis results..

so ive been going back and fourth on wether or not to order a new superduty or find a nice used 6.0. i found a nice 2004 lariat. at first i swore off all 03 and 04, but lately ive figured out that if it was trouble from the start its gonna stay trouble. but it seems that if the oasis says its clean its probly gonna stay clean. so i found a nice 04. truck is super clean with 60k. ran the oasis.. the first few claims were stupid stuff like the ford emblems comming loose. but in 04 it had verious issues with check engine lights, and so fourth... but has had no warrenty work since 32k back in late 2004. so do i gamble assuming its been problem free since 2004??? what do u guys think..

Nothing stands out... I have an '04 with early build date and no problems. Just under 60K miles... Later editions have their problems too... I think late '04 would be my choice for 6.0s..... We'll see how the 6.4's do.....

HUH!?!?!? That truck is fine. those are not consistant problems, imo. those are typical problems that have seem to have been resolved. Is it at Frontier Ford?

i have an 04 and i LOVE IT, it's been the best truck i've owned, and it's modded highly and takes all the abuse i dish it out..

i would highly recomend one, IF you get a good one like mine, even when the motor was bone stock BONE STOCK, i put an SCT and cranked over 400HP on stock head bolts with just an exhaust/intake gauges... not even a puke issue at the degas bottle..

however, my ONE complaint is the dash.. the -04 just reminds me of a work truck. same dash as my old dump truck ya know.. the 05up interior is MUCH nicer and the dash/gauges are much nicer to look at..

i've been considering whether or not the -05 up dash would bolt into my interior, because i've spent way too much time/money on this truck to get rid of it, and if i'm stuck with my old dash, then so be it, it's worth the sacrifice to have the beast that i do.. ! ! !

I held out for an 05 or newer because I really like the interior and that is a very big factor when I am buying a truck. If you have the money I would try and find a low mileage 07 if you want to mod the truck. If you are going to keep it stock, order a new one. They look awesome on the inside and drive really well. On the other hand, the have so much emissions crap, that make modding a little harder. JMHO.

Looks like normal stuff, couple of those were addressed under recalls, so all '04's should have them.

I think the 6.4 is going to be a great truck! I would have recommended an '05+ if you were looking 4x4, for the new front suspension and ride and capacity.

What Job # did you get? (I guess that's off topic for the 6.0 forum...)
