Motor shut down

Hey guys , new to the forum.
I have a problem.
06 f250 6.0 at the dealer (ouch!!).
Motor one cool morning started shaking and smoking bad for a few seconds.
Next morning the same but only for 4-5 seconds.
The next morning , did not turn on.
Wanted to crank but just shook and that was it.

I add fuel aditives.
I had superchip programed.(before i took it to the dealer)

Dealer says they cant comunicate with computer and that they replaced some pump. They didnt tell me what kind of pump.It has been there for a week now.
What could be the problem?

Welcome to FTE Ford#2 Sounds like they did the high pressure oil pump.


I moved you from General to the 6.0L section.

Doubt it. It seems like the hpop can be just as finicky as any other part on the 6.0.

If they can't talk to the computer I would be looking at the super chip as the possible cause.

Most people will tell you that anything but an SCT with custom tunes is EVIL and will do lots of bad things to your truck. Do a search for tuners or maybe SCT and you will learn volumes. Spartan Diesel tech and Innovative are the crowd favorites here, and for good reason. Good luck and happy reading!

I guess it could depend on what you are using for fuel additives, hopefully nothing but the common products (or B5).

Take D8's advice on doing the tuner research if you are serious about reliability.

your dealer might have put on a fuel pump first, but the tech hasn't found the bad injector yet, mine dropped a few injectors and they had it over a week after a $300 fuel pump, then they broke the filter housing on the tranny. Long story short. Over a week with no trick and a thousand dollars later I have my truck back.

Alrighty then I guess I should not use my programer.
I payed a heavy price for that when my wife found out I bought that!!!!!!

My dealer rep asked me what kind of fuel I use , because they can't tell what I use.

I asked how is it going,
He said: "Not too good my FRIEND"

That was scarry!

well what are you going to do, fight and argue with them when you need your ride back? Besides until you pay whatwver they say, they will have your truck. I had just left one drilling company and was packing up to go to another when it went down and there is no way to prove that they broke it even though I saw no leaks when I was greasing it. So I paid the bums and got out of there.

As far as my fuel additive, I am using:
Standyne Performance Formula.
This was recomended to me by a repo man that has 3 - 6.0's.

Has anybody heard anything about this additive?

I finaly got my truck back,
they replaced a computer module.
