i'm not assuming anything. i know the bracket they supply works exactly where they want it to go. it's not just a bent piece of metal. If you want to make your own bracket using your equipment in your shop, so bet it. go for it. but the average person doesn't have the ability to make a quality, oem looking bracket like it supplied with this kit, sure anyone can take a piece of metal, bend it 90 degrees and then notch it several times and drill the holes in the exact spot. some people like yourself can do the bracket but most people would start to do it, and then use snips or other cutters to fit it where it has to go to keep from rubbing things, then that's when it just doesn't look finished. doesn't mean it won't work. i just like things to look like they came from the factory under my hood, not homemade.
