Can you post back with the measurements of the bracket? I've also just ordered the cfb5000 from e-bay and I'm going to need to fabricate the same bracket.

Placed a bid on a filter base, waiting for a reply. I got a couple ideas kicking around in my head. When and if I get the base I'll post up some info.

i have the dieselsite filter and it was super easy to install. i got the ball valves which really help keep the mess down when you go to change it, which mine is due now.

it's worth the money to get the filter kit from them with all you need, rather than making stuff up or jerry rigging to get the job done and it looks like dog***** ya know.

i changed mine at 10k miles and now with 26, i'm doing it again.
the original at 10k didn't have a huge amount of dirt in it, but it was worth changing. so i let this one go longer.

dapgar, you shouldn't make assumptions about other people's skills or the quality of work they might do. I actuall decided to make my own filter kit because I see that I can improve upon their rig.

i don't really doubt what other people can do, it's just why bother taking the time to make all the parts yourself when it's all there in the kit. my free time is precious to me, so the less about of time i spend running all over making sure i have all the parts etc, the better off I am.
if someone has all the free time in the world , then go for it, and save a few bucks.
i don't mind giving my money to some company who spent the time to develop it and market it for sale. and to be honest, not sure there is much besides the bracket and the hose in that kid you could really buy to make yourself. the part where the filter screws on isn't something anyone is really going to make themselves.

well all in all I know I only spent about 80 bucks to make mine, I found some cheaper valves than the ones I previously purchased so I returned them and a few fittings , and its pretty much like the others I will post pics in my gallery when its installed!

I'm with you on this one. I have the Dieselsite coolant filter with ball valves also and it was a breeze to install and it looks like it could have come from the factory the way it looks in the engine bay. Bob Riley is a great guy to deal with and has a list of great products IMO. I can appreciate a good do it yourself job but I liked the way the dieselsite kit looked so I went that route, but hey to each his own.

I have the dieselsite filter as well. My truck is a lease, and will be being turned in April 21st. I plan on taking the filter kit off. I don't know if I can put it on whatever truck I buy next, or if I will be selling it.

I'm on my 4th filter, and the first one was quite dirty, then next two weren't too bad. My truck has about 27,800 miles on it now. I love the truck, has not had a single issue with the motor, or transmission. If my truck was a crew-cab, I would buy it at the end of the lease.

There you go again assuming you know what people can do. I have full machine shop and welding capabilities, so yes I can make the bracket myself, in about 20 minutes, or I can make a different bracket to mount somewhere else. If I purchased the Dieselsite kit, I would be changing some things anyway, so why not just go ahead and make my own since I have the skills and the time.

Sorry for being touchy, I guess I didn't really like it very much when he first indicated that if anyone tried to do something other than buy the kit that he bought that it would turn out to be "jerry rigged" and look like "dog*****" and besides, nobody could make that bracket anyway. I should have just resisted the urge to respond. I apologize.

I don't mind spending a few extra bucks to support those that are innovating solutions for us all.
