what headers with a460 heads?

if you were to put a 460 with a460 heads into a 4x4 truck like ours, what headers with a chevy exhaust bolt pattern would you use?

just wondering if anyone has ran through this issue already...thanks

J,
It might pay off to to just PM monster baby. Hes running a 77 F150 4x4 frame under his ranger mud truck with A heads (I think) He might know what headers to buy.

Save you on hte PM. there are no headers that work with A heads that fit these trucks. Buy a set of headers with big enough primaries (at least 2" better 2-1/8") then by BBC flanges, cut the ford flanges off and weld on the Chev flanges. Only other choice is custom made units. But remember the A heads have raised exhaust ports too so that can cause some fitment issues.

Mine don't count I am just running BBC pulling or upright headers. But I did see a set of BBC headers that would fit my frame but they were custom built race headers for a chassis car.

i found one thread on here through google where one of the sponsors (discountpowerparts?) had headers by ed, or something like that, had them for low bow f250's. now i cant get onto his site. i think it said they were really expensive for the 2 1/8th.

Got to thinking on this a little if your running A460 heads you want 2-1/8 as teh minimum. And yes they are expensive but then again if your running A460 heads you shouldn't be worrying about money anyway, cause thats getting fairly serious and going fast costs a lot of money.

well i dont know what "expensive" was...there was no dollar amount said in the post. i dont mind spending money, but i dont wanna throw it around. i could see spending 600 dollars on a good set of headers but 700+ is where id draw the line.

monster(since you seem to know about a460 stuff)- do you think that a set of BBC shorties would fit in a ford? im not too familiar with the chevys and dont know what their big blocks headers shape would compare to a ford trucks chassis.

something like those rear dumps seem like they may work, but i dont know about the cross member. im guessing the cross member would cancel out the ones for the 55-57 chevys.

those camaro headers look like they might clear for sure. if you can find some that go back enough to clear the motor mount towers I don't know why you couldn't make them work. especially those street rod header types because they would pull in enough to clear the steering.
