surging prob.

hello everyone im Cezar..
first let me say this is a great site, lots of info.
well i got a 97 7.3 f250 with a 40/70 hp. chip with 250, rounds on the clock. just recently had the tranny overhauled. tha day after i picked it up went to start it and just started surging at start up. WHOOP,WHOOP,WHOOP, after about 5 seconds or i accelerate it,, it clears right up, i shut it off and start it again does it everytime.
anybody got any ideas? this is my second diesel. im still sorta new to this

alot of guys have had good luck with transmission range sensors, but before you do try unplugging the icp sensor to see if she quits the lope. the neutral part has me leaning towards the trans sensor though

yep Joe is right on. TRS is probably your problem. It may not be adjusted or it may be bad.

here is the ICP sensor

No the TRS is on the outside of the trans where the shifter lever is one the drivers side of the trans. To remove it requires removing one nut, 2 bolts and an electrical connector

Rick if you look closely you will notice the allen head broken off in the HPOP fill plug. I assure you that is not your engine. Give me one good warm day and some hot water and your engine compartment will look like mine!! I'll make you a deal. I will detail your truck inside and out and you fix my missing paint and dent in my door!! lol Good deal huh?? FOR ME!!
