We are in the market to turn in our 1999 F250 for a new F250. My husband just retired and wants to buy one this month. I am not knowledgeable about pricing policies at dealerships. Can anyone tell me if now is a good time to buy or how I find out about rebates available or incentives for buying F250 trucks?
Rebates may vary depending on the area you live and the equipment packages you choose.
Best time to buy is usually fall, but now is a good time because they are having trouble moving trucks off of the lot, given the general economic slowdown.

Just traded my 04 for an 08. Paid invoice minus the rebates.
2500 in customer cash and Ford rebate
1000 Super Duty Owner Loyalty
1000 Commercial Upfit rebate (this means you spend $1200+ on "upfit") I had the dealer put the push plates on for my plow. Cost me $1292 minus the $1000 so I paid $292 for the plow frame.
I actually think you can do better than invoice minus rebates right now. Everything I read says that trucks are sitting on dealer lots.
I got $14k on a trade for my 04 350 and it looked terrible. They didn't even start it up. I was shocked.

I'm in the Boston area also, can you tell me where you got that deal?
If you live in Texas, I frequently see ads taking 10-12 grand off of the MSRP in the Houston newspaper. I'm pretty sure you can find these deals elsewhere in Texas also.
X-plan is a program that Ford has to allow employees to provide a way for their family and friends to get a fairly good price from a dealer, without haggling. Sign up here, read about the program, and make a request from one of your new friends: http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums...p?showforum=45
Rebates are good for orders too, but it's the rebates in play at the time of delivery, not time of order.
Can you still get the $2500 off for customer cash if you are using X-plan? If so, can you do the 2500 off and get the special APR rate? When I bought mine it was either cash back OR 0% APR.
Invoice minus rebates is better than the X-plan price, isn't it?
that is what I was thinking, that x-plan is not a great value if you are already able to get the dealer down to invoice. My x-plan was $500 below dealer invoice cost.
How hard is it to get the dealer down to invoice? I hate haggeling with dealers.

x-plan IS below invoice by about $300 to $600 depending on sticker price. and all rebates apply. one rebate most people don't know about is if you trade in a super duty, there is/was a $1000 super duty loyalty rebate. and most dealers won't tell ya about that one.
