thats the only wire you need to cut, and as long as make the connection good you have nothing to worry about. mine isnt even soldered, i just have the spades crimped and i am constantly changing sizes and combos around to mess with things and watch datat on the scanner.
When I was switching out resistors to see would work for me I broke one because the spade terminals were so tight. I didnt know it till I got in the truck and started it and the cel went on. Drove home with no problems. Rigged up a new resistor and cel went off. After that I cant see how a truck wont run if things jam up from a inline set up. ???????????????????

My truck still ran as well but it was cutting out like crazy. I only know what happened with my truck. Give it a try. Unhook your spade connector and see what happens I don't know for sure. never tried it. Thats why I said "I think" you could unhook the ICP and get home. maybe there is no need to unhook it.
wow, that was easier then i thought...lol
remember this is far from normal, his truck has 99-03 injectors running 94-97 programming. http://youtube.com/watch?v=TV4IP09ey6k
tj, i think you had issues because the wire was making intermittant connections. the icp would be making horrible psi fluctuations at idle with that happening

thats what I am guessing as well. I just know I rebuilt the resistor pack and all was good!
You might be right about unhooking. If the ICP gose south the computer might go into get it home mode so you can drive till its fixed. I give it a try for future referance.
so if i do this mod, will my truck barely idle like the one in the video? and if something goes wrong, will it harm the computer? also, if this is done, would it be able to be returned to stock?
Thanks Dan
No your truck won't idle like mine in the video. it won't hurt the computer and to go back to stock you just take the resistor out and plug your connectors on the wires back together. Mod undone.
