Mysterious Yellow Piece in Trans Pan
I jsut was doing a Transmission pan fluid change and there was this small yellow plug looking thing in the pan. It almost looked like a floating type thing. Anyone know what it is? I have an 07 STX 2wd with the 4.6 V8.

J/K! Its the plug they install in the transmission dipstick hole.On the assembly line they just push it in the pan when installing the dipstick.Put it on your mantle place or trophy case!

No it just means that he can't go more than 5 years back in time... if u don't rotate it 12 degress northwest it you won't get the full potential out of the flux capacitor!
On a serious note: Can you describe the yellow floaty thing? Is it magnetic?

No it wasn't magnetic. I just looked like a yellow type plug. I wanted to take pics but needed to finish up to get to my Super Bowl Party.

Note the o-ring on it.It is what keeps the plug in place in the dipstick hole before the dipstick pushes it into the pan.

Yes I saw that. At least it won't cause any harm until my next pan drop in 5k miles or so. How did you know what that was?

Next time you do it just take it out. It is an assembly plug like said above, or is it
