So I grabbed some power steering fluid and topped off the reservoir with off the shelf power steering fluid. When I pulled the funnel out it was slightly red then I remembered that Ford uses ATF in their powersteering pumps. Do you think it'll be an issue with the two types of fluid in the pump? This is a 94 F150.

You should use type "F" ATF or it can get to be a little noisy.
That off the shelf power steering fluid is not used on any Ford Trucks I am familiar with but I do not know about the 1997 and newer ones.
I think off the shelf power steering fluid will work OK, just a little noisy and may shorten the life of the units some.
Use only power steering fluid that:
meets Ford’s Specification ESW-M2C33-F,
such as Ford Premium Power Steering Fluid,
E6AZ-19582-AA or an equivalent Type F
Automatic Transmission Fluid with a Ford
registration number (an 8-digit number
beginning with “2P” printed on the fluid
container).
where does it say not to use anything else?

I was just going by this statement.
"CAUTION
DO NOT USE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
FLUID SUPPLEMENTS, ADDITIVES,
TREATMENTS OR CLEANING AGENTS."
From TSB 06-14-4.
I think I have seen it elsewhere but do not remember where right now.
This has all been covered in depth already on this forum.
