Why do starter solenoids go out so much? There is no way that it's always because of vibration and heat. My EB did it only once when i first got it. Just changed my trucks out today and it went out after one short drive. Give this youngin some insight, please?
someone may later prove me wrong, but your cable to the starter may not be tight enough, cable may be shorting out on the exhaust or inner fender, guage of cable too small (numerically high) or bad starter. hope this helps!
I've had problems with solenoids before, too. I had one go bad after only a few months - it wouldn't even click. Had a good ground, voltage on the S wire, everything. Replaced it and no problems since. I also had one stay on once...not good.
solved the problem, the ignition switch wire was bad and that other one next to it, forget what it is, got some new connectors and it works fine now all thanks to this forum
