I was just wondering where in the world I could buy a dpf delete. Does it throw more smoke? Sound better? Better fuel economy? Inform me please.
Not sure if you know this or not, but you will need a custom tune to turn the regen off prior to taking the DPF off. If you dont, you'll have lots of issues with constiant regen, CEL lights ect...
Your going to need a programmer that can have custom tunes loaded on it. Most popular ones not are SuperChips FlashPaq and SCT LiveWire. I've been running the SCT in my truck since september and have had no problems. There are already tunes out to the superchips but a lot of people are waiting for the custom tunes for the livewire, IMO it's a better product. I should be getting my 5" turbo back DPF delete pipe tomorrow and I plan on putting it on just find out what it sounds like. I'll definatly take some pics and video to post up on the forums.
But you're lookign anywhere between $500-$1000 for the programer, $250-$400 for the delete pipe, then what ever the exhaust system you want after that.
Well I got the DPF delete pipe in and it was a big disapointment. I was lead to believe that this would be a full turbo back delete pipe, but it turned out to be a Cat back DPF delete. It cost me $350 for less than 3 ft. of 5" pipe with a flange and sensor bung on it. To say the least I'm pissed off. And to make it worse the welding done on it is very poor. There is even a gap where the pipe connects to the flange with no weld at all.
After calling the companys that make DPF delete kits I've come to find out nobody has a turbo back delete pipe. Honestly why would you want to remove the DPF and keep the cat? So I've decided to break out my welder and start working on a real delete pipe. Hopefully there will be a good outcome to this.
Sounds pretty wicked! Im about to post those pics of the exhaust so check them out too!
you should put a sound clip up so we can hear what where thinking about getting into..and also what does DOC mean?? cuz i know what DPF is...is DOC the cat or something? and can u take that off with the delete pipes and tunes they got out there
