full specturm something..on the e bay. I went with the lowest price. I figured that there all the same gage steel and mandrel bent so what's the difference. I like it.
YES a tip will help. I ran my Silverline w/o the tip for about 20 miles as I left it at home when I did the install. I was just about to turn around and go back to the farm bc the exhaust was so annoying. It will help get the sound the hell away from you. IMO it was trapped under the bed and making an awful WOOOOOOWOWOWOWOWOWO noise.
I forgot, how can you not notice a difference? I could feel mine spool up a lot faster! It has a ton more get up and go off a stop sign. It used to make a lot of noise for about five seconds then move. Now it just goes right off the bat.

is that true? Becuase i was gonna take the same path - paint it with high heat and rust resistant paint and throw a tip on. Not to worried about paying double the price for stainless when none is looking under your truck ..
What are you paying for these exhausts? MKO was the cheapest when I looked on eBay just now. They were $300 to your door. My Silverline (read namebrand) ss exhuast was only $400 to my door. That doesn't seem double to me??? When you figure another $50+ for a tip that doesn't seem worth it to me. That would bring your aluminized to you for $50 less than my full stainless? I don't want to be an ***, but be a wise consumer.
muffler shop cut my MKO 5" to exit at the rear corner kinda where the new duramaxes do, not exactly what i wanted, but i like it better than the side swept exit it was. they also put some washers on one side of the hanger and ran a weld bead across them to keep from rattling. this helped "pull" the exhaust away from the shock better than i could get it before. there seemed to be too much wiggle room, so to speak, in the exhaust. it was all clamped tight ,but the rubber hangers allowed the entire pipe to move from side to side some. by "pulling" it over some, it's much more stable. the pictures aren't the greatest, but you can see there's room between the shock, and the spare tire.
my mbrp duals went on perfect, and for those that remember, i put them on in the dark with 1 lamp for light. sounds amazing, no muffler, loud as heck at WOT. i wouldnt recommend anything else. and the best part, with the duals, everyone gets to hear it, BOTH sides of trafic.
Randonhero - I got the silverline ss 4" on ebay - Was 335+ 65 shipping. Was @ 6 months ago. Ill look for the name of the vendor. That price included the 5" tip.
I went with a 4" Hog SS exhaust and it ran around $525 to my front door. I purchased it with a 4" x 5.5" x 16" Slant-Cut, Rolled-Edge Tip. The tip gives of a nice low tone and with the rolled tip I get a little more whistle.
My 4" SS MBRP with tip was $490 shipped to my door. At the time, it was the best deal I could find. Here's the tip I got (pushed it back a little since the pic was taken):
