I put in my 4" turbo back, and it's so tight where it bends between the spare tire and passenger side shock there is very little room it rubs against the shock . Anyone else have this problem. I can't really tell the performance difference. I am a little disappointed in the sound it makes. I thought it would have been a little more throatyer-is that a word??I don't want to delete the muffler because I think it would be to load. Would a tip help?
I have the 4" from MKO, it was ok near the spare tire area, maybe loosen the spare and move it a little away from the pipe. Hope that helps if you haven't tried already.
Deleteing the muffler on these won't make it loud like a gasser. Can you loosen the exhaust pipe at the end of the muffler ant twist/turn the pipe to get more clearance from the shock?
The benefit of the 4" exhaust is not so much of a performance thing until you add bigger turbo, injectors etc. Where you will see an inprovement is in the upper end of the power band like at highway speeds. The 4" will greatly improve the life of the turbo and engine by letting her breathe.
Whose system is it? When I put my MBRP on, I had to leave all the connections loose and adjust everything until it was where I wanted it, then snugged all the clamps down. I like how mine sounds, but I will be taking the muffler out just to see if I like it better. The reason for the bigger exhaust is to keep the EGTs down. Really only a factor when you're towing or hitting it hard with an aggressive tune. I'm sure it does add some to performance, but really it's to keep the exhaust flow up lowering EGTs.
Lossen up your connection points re-align, from tranny support back. Tighten up from the back to front after you have made sure that your pipe is clear from shocks and spare tire. I have a the 5" exhaust system that clears the shock and tire, your 4" should be a piece of cake.

If you can get a 5" in there then 4" shouldn't be a problem. I'll try wiggling it around and move the tire over some. what I gather is that the 4" is good to keep the egt's dwn. I just thought it would make more of a difference in performance o well...I like anyhow and am glad i did it.
As far as the sound goes, it's probably a lot louder than you think. It may be hard to tell from the driver seat, but the people beside you going down the road know how loud it is.

I always enjoy pulling the trailer and going up a big hill at WOT. The 5" exhaust really bellows and when I go around a gasser that is struggling with a trailer half my size and still falling back, he get's to hear it all as I go by.
