This truck is definitely a rare find, but there's no way that it's worth anywhere near what he's asking for it. If he is serious about selling the truck, he may be able to get $5000-$6000 from a die-hard Minnesota Vikings fan who's also into classic Ford trucks.
with this much rukas over a truck mabe the best thing to do would be to send it to a crusher
Yeah they will get a few hundred bucks for it. a few hundred more than the $0 it will go for on Ebay. NumberDummy should get a cut for his info being posted in the seller's ad.
Fubar? is not the seller of the truck. Just reading all the information that is on both sites and seeing different information on the D.S.O. What I really want to know is what numberdummy says about the rest of the information on the truck.*
I am not trying to disprove either poster, just want to know does it all really matter if it is the number made or invoice number?? SEE POST # 28.
But there is nothing wrong with a Purple Truck with history or any other truck for that matter.RuFubar?
See post # 28 for the FORD MOTOR COMPANY description of what DSO refers to.
*No more info can be added unless the seller lists all the codes from the Warranty Plate.

I have special ordered a 69 and a 72 F-100 from Ford and they came with a six digit DSO number. Finding another truck spected identical to the truck I had probably would have been hard to do, but when it came time for trade it, it was just another Ford truck. Nothing special about it except it was optioned out very well. It may have got me a few dollars more on trade in, but not much. Now with that said, if you want to see the true Purple People Eater go to my gallery and check out my Purple 56 F-100 and my not so purple 67

56 is my favorite year when it comes to the 50's trucks.
i wish i could afford this beauty right here. even though its a 54 its not too bad of a deal for what it is.
only thing is the guy started modifying it too much. i want mine to be as original as possible except for the motor which will be a 428 cj http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/car/553393362.html
The seller is definately a newbie to Ebay. He has done some "research", but I think talking to a coach as "research " doesn't qualify. Maybe the coach should stick to football instead of putting $$ value on old beat up pickup trucks. If the truck has as much value as the seller has been told, he would've taken to Barrett Jackson instead of wasting his time and $$ on Ebay. That listing wasn't cheap. A lot of things just don't add up on this listing, personally I think it is scam. If I was listing this truck I would've started out with a more realistic opening bid. Bet a dozen donuts it doesn't sell.

I would agree, if it were that "rare" it would be at Barrett Jackson, or in someones private collection. I think he's trying to sell a pig in a poke, not worth the $$$ he's asking for it.
