Dead batteries!

This morning I went out to start the truck and batteries were dead! Never had this happen before. Truck has been sitting for five days. It has been getting between 32 and 50 degrees here in Nor Cal lately. Truck has original batteries which are four years and four months old. Is this the way they die once they need replacement? I thought they would have given me some signs first. Thanks

sounds like you need some new batts, make sure you change them both or the old one will kill the new one!

Sounds like a typical battery failure to me. Have had batteries on gassers go without warning and they don't have the compression of a diesel.

Sometimes they just drop dead other times they circle the drain a few times.

Thanks guys. Trickle charged em today and seem ok. Gonna go battery shopping today.

Just remember you MUST change both at the same time. If not, the old batt will kill the new one in a matter of days.

I sold my '01 PSD F250 in April oof last year with the original batteries and serpentine belt in it. It is imperative to keep the posts clean and use a non-corrosive paste or vaseline in the connectors and on the posts after a good scrub cleaning. I use a scotchbrite pad and a product called "No-Ox-Id A" . I've always had great luck with batteries using this method.
