Yes, it can be done - dye it, and use good professional quality stuff from an auto paint supply store. Some upholstery shops sell good quality stuff too. They see a lot of heat (UV), so don't mess around with painting - won't last as long. Spray-gun applied stuff is the best, and be sure to prep it right - no left-over armor-all, etc.
VHT vynal paint works great.. auto part stores have it, i did mine from tan to black, and its seen 3 summers not garaged and looks good!! wipe it down with thinner good before and repair any cracks with 2 part epoxy.
I bought the SEM paint. What's the best way to remove the dash pad from the dash?I have the dash out of the truck, but the pad is stuck on.I don't want to risk wrecking it.
Check the tips and tricks thread.....or flip the dash upside down and remove the 11 or 12 nuts from the dashpad studs. You will have to remove the glove box and inst cluster to get to the nuts...unless you are talented with sockets/knuckles/extensions
Thank's for the tip.I actually got the pad off.I had previously removed all the nut's,the windshield must have been leaking pretty bad.I brought the dash into the house, the next morning there was water on the floor all around it.I think it was just frozen to the steel dash.Anyway it's off,I have to prep it for the dye.
