I got my new truck LOL (66 4 WD) running over the weekend, installed electronic ignition and started looking at all the rest of my (stuff ) laying around as i need to put a flatbed or a box on it . I'm leaning more for the box as my 64 has a flatbed and i,m not real enthusiaskic about haveing another one. anyway i started measureing the boxes on my other trucks and came up with ( i have no idea what length this 66 4 WD will need. the 65 2WD has a 116 in. wheel base and a 82 in. box. the 66 - 2WD and the 66 F -100 4Wd both have 102 in boxes on the with 130 wheel base. the 64 4 WD has a wheel base of 123 in. wheel base.or so. Box length ??? and the 66 F-250 !20 in. wheel base. no idea what the box lenth is supposed to be. I'm sure ther are some people on this site that have these trucks , Would greatly appreciate it if you would post the lenth on the 64. 4WD and athe 66 4WD. Thanks Dutch
Opps, got side tracked and ran out of time on previous thread and unable to add to or edit previous thread.
From the 'Illustrated Facts and Features Manual' the Body Dimentions for the 'Styleside' F100/F250 4X4 wheelbase is 120.0". Inside length at floor with the tailgate closed is 96.1". The maximum width insdie at the floor is 73.0", and 49.0" minimum between the wheelhousings. With the tailgate open the measure'mt is 51.6". The minimum heigth from floor to the top of the sides is 19.1". Maximum cu.ft. capacity is 70.6", allowance made for the wheelhousing.
There are 3 pockets per/side. The length centerline to centerline (side) is from 1st to 2nd. 43.3", and from 2nd to 3rd. 49.4". From the back of cab to 1st. pocket is 2.9". Pockets measure 1.7" X 2.3".
Purchased Ford CD 'Red Book' which had very little if any info on the 64 4X4 but cut and pasted what little there is.
1964 FACTS
The F-100 and F-250 Stylesides got a new separate double-wall cargo box with a single handle tailgate latch. The F-350 continued to be available with the older style Styleside box. The wheelbase on the F-100 long models and F-250s was increased to 128",
primarily to accommodate camper pickup bodies. The cab was
also redesigned, now having a 1" taller roof section.
The integral cab/pickup box was no longer available.
The F Series also got a new grille, this time with eight rectangular openings between the two single headlights. The Ford letters above the grille were also spaced further apart.
There were also minor interior refinements such as a color keyed steering column, more interior insulation and more standard
seat padding.
Not sure if answered question but certain more knowledgeable member will be able to provide more.

thanks Dave, i doubt i will find a box in my vicinity that'll bolt to my 250 so am planing on taking one of the several pickup box trailers i have and cutting it down to fit the truck.never done this before so it's gonna be interesting to say the least. thats why i wanted to know the length of the box.that brings to mind another question. how may trucks (slicks) were built by ford with the 120 in. wheel base besides the 250 4WD's. with the styleside.
