My FIL is looking for info on His (year?) 440 JD Detriot Deisel loader. He has some stripped gears in the tranny and is looking for information on removing the tranny and replacing the bad gears. Anyone know of a good website or other resource that maybe has a breakdown diagram or rebuild procedure.
I know some of yall have and work on tractors is the only reason I asked this question here. Thanks
Try Yesterday's Tractors and go to <TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=1 width="100%" bgColor=#ffffff border=0><TBODY><TR><TD>Discussion Forums</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE> and go to the John Deere forum. Those guys will help.
john deere company has made all their parts explosions available on their website and tech manuals can be bought on ebay or the dealer. also try www.tractorshop.com
Well, good news. It's a John Deere. They have virtually every part for everything they ever built. Go to a JD dealer, and if you ask them they will pull up the exploded parts diagram on the computer and then print out the pictures for you. You can then get them to print out the corresponding part #'s and write down the prices. I have them do this everytime I need parts. I then put them in a notebook at home. **Just don't go in there and ask them to print out ALL of the diagrams, they won't, but they will print out whatever part you working on and need to order. They also carry shop manuals for most of there stuff, alittle pricey, but if your keeping the equipment, it's a good investment.
