Wink Knock Sensor...

What happens when you swap motors and the motor you put in has no place for the knock sensor?

Took out a 302..put in a 351w in a 1994 Ford Bronco...

Ruh roh raggy!! Weld a nut that the KS fits into at about the same place as the original
and hope it is able to pick up the vibrations bad bad bad vibrations do do dooo!!
It is there to alter the timing events if say when it is 95* out you are towing your
boat up a big hill and your fuel is a bit old or not at the advertised octane. It is needed
especially if you are going to be beating on it or towing etc. figure out a way You may
need to play with a couple different spots before finding one that is right, hopefully you don't find out the hard way that it isn't in the right spot!!(burnt hole in piston)
Having a quiet exhaust will help you hear if it is knocking so either leave the exhaust
or find a cheap muffler to throw on it to keep it quiet until you get it dialed in. The KS
is a piezo transducer it is tuned to the frequency of the knock and it listens for it.

Not needed...351 came without one, 302H.O that Ford threw in the 'stangs didn't have one, and my truck's been running fine for a year without one. Just listen to the motor, it'll tell you what it wants.
