There is a new guy outside of Houston, Texas that has a DPF delete kit now. And good news is it's avaliable in more than a 3.5" system. I just ordered a 5" pipe that is a direct bolt on to the downpipe. Unfortunatly since I'm running a SCT LiveWire I still don't have a program to completly kill the regen. But I'm really considering putting it on just for the hell of it. I'll get some video and sound clips up as soon as I put it on.
Yes it has spots for the sensors, it's a direct bolt on, and I paid $350 for the 5", and my friend got a 4" for $285.
Yes my truck could possibly go into constant regen. My SCT display tells me when my truck enters regen, and if this happens I can just put the DPF back on and let it cycle to prevent engine damage.
The DOC is not replaced, but the DPF is not required for the DOC to work properly. There is no need for regeneration for DOC's. The purpose for them is to reduce the amount of hydrocarbons. DOC's are not the same type of silicon substrate as a DPF. DPF are a filter, DOC's are just a modified version of a catalytic converter.
Ok well the pipe I ended up getting wasn't exactly what I was looking for. It was a delete pipe that bolts on to the back of the Cat, it just removes the DPF. I talked with the guy who made them and he told me that he would custom make a true 5" turbo back system. It starts out as 4" at the downpipe the goes to 5" after the transmission crossmember. I'm expecting to get it by the end of next week.
I've also heard that the program that kills the regen cycle on the truck is ready for the SCT LiveWire. I'm still trying to get ahold of that but hopefully it will be soon.
Clearly I am willing to waste my warranty away, and honestly I don't care.
And yes the regen cycle is very annoying to me. I've seen the temps created by the exhaust system, and I know if I leave my truck idling in tall grass and it goes into regen it will probably start a fire. My truck is a work truck, and I am more willing to risk ruining a $15k engine, than my $3M ranch.
Everyone knows that if you mess with the exhaust systems on these truck your warranty will be voided. Ford tells us that, and it's even stamped onto the bottom of the muffler.
I absolutey hated my job1 because of the regen, so when i got my job2 in sept I put on kem's dpf delete and made my own pipe and now I thoroughly love this truck. Mpg is still way low, but at least it runs. I tell people all the time if I'm getting horrid mpg at least it runs like a GT500. Warranty schmarranty. I'm not going to drive a 50k truck that runs like a '63 Bug. (No offense.)

So when SCT comes out with the delete tune will that be upgradeable on line??
I was told that the DPF delete/regen kill program will be a tune revision. Similar to the one released back in September to make the LivWire compatable with the 6-speeds manuals.
What kind of mpg are you guys getting with the dpf delete and the programmer. I am considering doing it myself. Since I am only getting 11 mpg now. I just dont want to risk damage down the road by removing the dpf. I am new to the dpf since my last f250 was a 6.0L.So any knowledge anyone has I would love to hear it before I drop $1500 into this.

Wow you brought this one back from two years ago! Hahaha! The DPF is the worst. Spartan Tuning and DPF/Cat delete has yielded some very significant increases in MPG. I went from avg MPG of 11mpg to about 15mpg. On the highway I have seen results of 20-25mpg. I am not the only one. I am also SRW, 3.73 gears, crew cab, short bed. When I reached 25mpg it was in the summer and I kept the speed and RPM's low. Not only will you have increased MPG, you will have an absolute monster on your hand as far as power! Good luck!
Yea saw this while searching on google. I am going with the edge race evolution. A dpf and cat delete pipe. Also a cold air intake. Just hope to not have any problems with the truck like I did with my 6.0L.
