What are you running for a radio? I have been having issues with mine lately, thinking of replacing the old girl.
Toyman
Just a cheap Midland with dual 2' firestiks mounted on the tool box. For such short antenna's so far I think its doing great. Works good enough to hear on busy highways and for the occassional Dune fun with friends.
There is a Cobra 29 sitting in my garage, maybe I should install it
Good reliable radio there, easily modified. I have a RCI (Ranger Comunications) 2950. I've had this radio for almost 15 years, been a great radio until recently. I been to the radio shop a few times getting goofy stuff redone (solder breaking)

Yup the Rangers are good radio's but they do not like the abuse of being in a vehicle.. I knew a couple guys that had them and they were loud and proud till they had problems..
I run a Mirage 88 and a Superstar 3900..
Oh yeah I think your idea is good... Let's get everything going!!!
I will have to start checking in more... Only have internet at work but I will try to post more...
