any one tryed this yet.. i did it seemed to halp a little more on power and gave me a extra 1-3 mpg on a average tank.. any one else havd any luck wit it. or tryed it.
I would re-think the use of acetone. Acetone can melt or damage just about any plastic or rubber part know to man. It maybe just fine for metal parts; you may be melting the o-rings in your fuel system.
not sure what parts would melt down but my neighbor is the one who turned me onto it and has been runnign it is his 2000 7.3l since it was new and has not had any problem.. i ahve google and done alot of looking up info on it is a lot better than alcohol and for 6 bucks a pint i saved about 12 bucks a tanks.. it is kinda messy and gives a wierd smell to the exhuast.. and useing such a small amount of it 2-3oz per 10 gallon it would take a long time to melt any hoses made of rubber or such.. you would lose them to old age first.. i was just wondering if any one else had tryed this stuff or maybe had dinoed there truck on it..
acetone in a diesel? compare it toalchohol? what kind ov drugs do you people take?,,acetone is a very strong solvent and has no place in the fuel. what good do you think it can do? to handle acetone in a tank truck,,it took special vitron gaskets and very expencive chem-solv hoses,,that crap will disolve just about anything short of stainless steel. now i have heard it all. it would eat up the seas in the transfer pumps in 5 or 6 loads,,,reanastey stuff.

Do some research and you'll find sound chemical theory on using acetone in fuel for internal combustion engines.. Whether it works or not is debatable. I've tried it in every gas engine vehicle I own and it works in some and not in others.

...
alchole and acetone are very differents has different combustion rates the only real thing the two have in common is that they both are a solvent i have ran about 10-15 tanks of it aint had a problem.. my niebor who turned me on to it has ran over a 100k on it aint caused a problem i am sure if you where to put stright acetone in your tank you may have probblems but only 2-3oz cant damage that much stuff that quick
Acetone in the fuel is one of the topics that pops up with every crop of noobs. It has been discussed and tried probably a dozen times since I have been watching this forum, and I don't think anyone has continued to add it after the first few tanks of fuel. The fact that no one sticks with it tells me all I need to know.
What did you pay for your truck...? A lot of hard earned money i bet.So why put that in your diesel,to save a few dollars. If you need to put diesel additive in your fuel than use something that is made go with diesel fuel like power service..

I wonder if people said that when the first diesel fuel treatments came out?

could not have said it better..the stuff might not be magic but it cant be as bad as some of these people are makeing it sound.. i think it is all a matter of opion
