Can anyone tell me what cc. DOVE-A heads are?
and what is the difference between the DOVE-A head and the DOVE-C head? I now the A head was made first and alters where made to it to get the C head but what where they?
dove-a and dove-c are the same head. Ford uses the -? to distinguish between the original and a superceded part number. The probably changed the location of the date code ID on the inside of the rocker area or something small like that. To my knowledge, I've never seen any differences. In fact, I know it sounds weird, but I'm running a c9ve-a on one side and a dove-c on the other side, they are the same thing, but the little date code id is in different places, and the old head had one bolt hole that is a 3/8 instead of the same hole on the other head being a 7/16.
Mil1ion, there are no such 429/460 heads with the casting numbers( C8SZ-B ) these heads DO NOT exist. there are alot of books out there with the wrong information. so everyone else that views this page, remember (( C8SZ-B IS A FALSE CASTING NUMBER )).. not shouting just wanted it to stand out so people take notice. Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows for sure what the compression ratio is on the 68-71 DOVE 429/460 cylinder heads? Is it the same from 68-71, and if I put them on a newer 429/460 will it be the same compression ratio as the engine it originally come off of? Thanks for any help.
