I heard to NOT put anything on the drill bit and to start small and all the shavings would fall to the ground, or your face. That is how I did mine with no problems JMO

Lastly, connect all of your grounds together to a good ground. Should see my pics for grounding location. See below.

As for the fourth hole in the pod:

Just tell your dad it's easier to install now rather than later. That's the truth actually. You will have to be skilled at fishing to get the tuner wire up, or unsnap your pillar from the post to gain access, creating all the more opportunity to mess it up.

Grounding location I used (as viewed from afar)

Close up (see the ground on the left with the yellow round connector?)

Dash light illumination power from afar

and close up (notice the red wire-gauge wire that is spliced to the illumination wire-blue with red stripe)

Lastly, here's the final product. I love hte look of the Dipricols. Clean and sharp.

Kris had a good spot to tap for ignition power that is also in that other thread. It is the #8 post in this thread:

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/6...r-problem.html

Drilling for the EGT was easy. Slo and steady is the way to go and I used a flexible magnetic tool to clean out the pipe. I like knowing that mine is actually tapped into the exhaust, but I'm sure clamp is fine as well. I think I've heard of those coming loose ocassionally.
Check Brian at www.dieselpowerproducts.com. He pre-painted my pod for me and threw in the tap for free, although I did buy two sets. The pod painting was standard practice for him though. Think that my 4 gauge pod with the three Dipricols was $397 after WA tax and free shipping.

Most of all-HAVE FUN!!!
I will try and talk my dad into it but he is sick right now and he is not into negoications right now

I don't know -- I think you should use the forth gauge hole for a forth gauge. I like how the F5 fits on the existing gauge mount. When I was getting my $3.16/gallon fuel today ( ), I glanced over at a 6.0L guy eyeballing my gauge setup. I just left that forth one open for now. Not that big of deal. I'm pretty sure I've made up my mind to go with the DiPricol high pressure oil gauge and put the fuel pressure gauge on the outside like Brandon did. Should be a decent setup.

Here's mine:

I do have to agree with Joe. The idea of a fourth usable gauge does sound allot better. I've thought about it a bit. Maybe down the road. Either way, I do like having the four gauge pod instead of the standard three. Gives me options.

Most autometers are 1/8. The Diprocols i installed in my work truck were 1/4 NPT which required a 7/16" bit.

Hey are you sure about the 7/16 bit. If thats right then the hole is bigger then the tap is.

Hey Nick, Either way, you can usually order the correct tap from wherever you order your gauges or go to your local hardware store. I tapped mine dry and slowly. Just clean it out with a magnet and vacuum. How are negotiations going?

Well I found the right tap now but I cant find a R bit. We went to 8 stores and struck out on all of them. The Dp negotiations are going ok. I keep asking but He says 1 thing at a time. After this gauge install is done then We will get a Dp

What's an R bit? Don't remember using that on my truck. Good luck with the DP negotiations. Might ask your gauge supplier for an extra set of push pins since you might need to take stuff apart to install the DP. Or do like mike did and use some bolts. Either way, good luck.
